So it’s time ! Finally trying out a new hair dye , and my fiance helped pick a color. He really likes lilacs and lavender . And while I made a nice lilac tint with a mix of conditioner , punky purple, punky blue, and a drop of Lime Crime Pony.
This is my base. And I decided to go ahead and just try this dye with the pastel lilac base , as I really wanted my hair to match the Lunar Tides promo pictures.
As I’ve talked about before with my other previous Lunar Tides reviews, Blood Moon, Smokey Navy, and Moonstone.

But sometimes the dye is a little different than the pictures , which can be slightly disappointing if you want a very specific shade of the color. In the jar it looks like a darker blue based purple , but I wanted that almost neon lavender shade . And while I have tried other Lavender shades from Iroiro , they were also too blue compared to the website’s picture. Before tinting my hair lilac , my hair was more silvery platinum, but when I tested Purple Iris on my fringe , it was very pale violet more than the color on Lunar Tides website.
So with that bit of hair back ground over with , I will show a few more pictures of my base. Also worth noting is that this dye only goes over really pale platinum white or pastel hair. I tried putting over the hair on the back of my head near where my roots are, and it would not show up. So I had to make a darker lavender shade with my mix of Punky colors and Lime Crime Pony . But it’s only on the back . The rest of my hair was extremely light.

And now let’s check out the dye in my mixing bowl.
It’s a bit hard to see the true color as my purple bowl doesn’t really contrast that well.
It does smell really good , a bit fruity and this dye has a gel like consistency.
I used a whole jar for my head, and I kind of wish I had bought another jar for touch ups. I felt like the dye was a bit stiffer than the previous dyes from Lunar Tides from my earlier reviews. Good thing I trimmed my hair a month ago.
And here’s the dye on my hair . I might have to order one of the lilac lipsticks from Kimchi , as my poor Fenty lipstick is getting older and I’ve used so much .
So after cooking some food for my dogs ( they’re on a new diet now ) and playing some Genshin Impact . I rinsed out my hair . I would like to say that the dye was in my hair for 5 hours but I’m not really sure as I was doing other stuff around the house and not really keeping track of time.
The next day !
It came out more like the pictures on Lunar Tide’s website ! I was impressed, although on my ends where I had less lilac , it was bit more blue toned . Still this was a pretty good outcome !
There was a few area’s closer to my roots in the back where the dye didn’t really cover , so definitely only use this on super platinum or white hair.
I still have a bit of the pinky lilac too on this side .
I kind of like how shiny and sort of holographic the dye looks .
Wanted to show off my eyeshadow too.
And back pictures !You can kind of see where the dye just wasn’t sticking , but also my mixture of punky and lime crime kind of blended well.
Up closer you can see some silvery streaks too.
I really like this dye and it’s one of my favorites of Lunar Tides that I’ve tried so far. I do think it needs that super pastel pinky lilac base to really shine as my ends do look a bit more blue toned. But I had a similar issue with Iroiro pastel lavender and the Iroiro neon lavender. I want to see how long this dye lasts , and pretty much baby the color. So only washing in cold water , using a shower cap , mostly using conditioner and only minimal shampoo. As I really love this shade, but if this fades too fast I may just go back to Iroiro and mix the remaining amount of my Lime Crime Pony dye to get a color similar to this . But the nature of pastels is that they usually fade fast, so wish me luck .Bye for now 🦄✨.

It looks quite pretty, I like the final look.

Thanks so much !! I’m really liking this color too ! I do wish it would stay a bit longer , but sadly that’s the nature of pastel dyes . Well aside from Iroiro pastels , those things seem to really stick to my hair .

Yeah, I think they usually don’t last that long but it’s great this one stayed a little while. The colour was nice and it’s cool it’s vegan and cruelty free too.
