*I recieved this product from Influenster and Charlotte Tilbury in exchange for my honest review.
So I had the opportunity to pick out a Pillow Talk lipstick. I remember hearing about this shade years ago and it being hyped up. This particular line of Charlotte Tilbury’s offer’s three different Pillow Talk shades, one in fair, medium and deep . I thought about grabbing the medium pillow talk but was worried that it had too much red , so I opted to get the fair and hope it leaned more of cool pink.
And seeing the box , I thought I was safe . It looked like a nice cool toned pink with a bit of a mauve (purple) undertone .
I was honestly excited to try it.
Plus the tube looked super shiny !
Wait that’s not cool at all ! It’s warm toned .
Even in this lighting it looks nothing like the shade on the box.
Well I went ahead and swatched it to see how it would look on my skin tone.
It’s warm and more peachy . Not a bad color but not the shade on the box. Which is pretty sad I wanted that shade . It’s also a very wet creamy lipstick that has a lot of slip. Similar to Urban Decay’s Vice but not quite as good to be honest.At first I thought it was similar to Back Talk but back talk really was a mauvey pink shade . I honestly haven’t reached for it in a while so I had to go look at my old posts .
Well I decided to kind of build my makeup around this shade and the Gucci Glow blus in Arctic Rose . And I even added the Too Faced Papaya Pop to work with the shade .
Before I move on to the full face pics I would like to talk more about the formula. It’s kind of wierd for a higher tier range lipstick , it’s very slippery and sort of just melts on my lips but also sort emphasizes lip lines . Like yeah a primer will sort of help , but I was not impressed with this formula . It also wears off super fast too when compare to other lipsticks from Urban Decay, Fenty, and even Nyx . Also this first picture is with no flash I think it looks kind of wierd . It’s still warm toned .
With the flash it’s brighter and more happy peach . It’s not a bad shade but it’s let down by the formula . this is a shade that needs to cover well for it to look nice on the lips in my opinion. I will say it smells really good though, like a Hershey’s Cookies and Cream bar. I really wanted one after wearing this for a few hour.
And now lets see what it looks like from afar:
It’s okay but it knind of just blends in. Also it’s kind of streaky color in my opnion. I definitely had to keep swiping it on .
And here’s Pillow talk butwith a darker lip around it. I think it really does need a lip liner to work for me.
And it’s been a while I’m not really what sure palettes or colkor I used for my eyes , but I was happy with how they came out. I’m pretty sure I did use one of the Too faced palettes though.
I liked it better with the lip darker lipstick, but I still wasn’t impressed with the formula, it’s a little too sherr and kind of thin to be honest. The scent is amazing but the lipstick just made want a bit more. Also the shade on the box was definitely more cool toned and mauve looking . Overall it didn’t really make me want to try any of the other Charlotte Tilbury shades , as I’m really not loving the formuala . Well it was fun and this review is so so late . I’ll be trying a more regular reviewing schedual . Or at least thats what I keep saying lol . But stay tuned I have way more reviews to go through. Havce a great week everyone.
