lunar tides cyan sky hair dye review

Hey everyone ! It’s hair dye review time ! This one is a bit late , but I’ve compiled all the pictures aside from what it looks like extremely faded.

I’ve been wanting to try Cyan sky for ages as I really liked pics online and the videos I’ve seen on TikTok . So taking a break from teal , I thought it would be a perfect time to try this more turquoise blue, Cyan shade.

Also Beware of Lunar Tides website pics , they can be a little off compared to the in real life dye.
It’s way darker in my bowl than in website’s picture. And definitely reminds me of Iroiro’s Turquoise dye .

Lunar Tides smells really good too, a bit like fruit snacks or some type of fruity candy. I’ve reviewed a few other shades ,moonstone , smokey navy, iris purple, And blood moon. They all smell about the same and while they don’t last quite as long as Iroiro’s, Lime Crime or One n Only they do fade nice and I appreciate having a spectrum of colors rather than just one or two blue, purple or green shades. The consistency is a bit of a mix of gel and pudding . But it’s still easy enough to spread though my hair. If you have even longer of thicker hair I would suggest buying two jars to totally cover your head.

I had some faded Iroiro emerald green , and it faded to sort of Mountain Dew Baja Blast. I was little sad that my head faded faster than my ends .

So it still should work with Cyan though.

Better picture of my faded areas , they were like a platinum blonde .
I was lucky enough to be able to cover all my hair with one jar!

And I let my hair set for 6 hours, because I really want this Cyan Sky to last longer than say Iris Purple that faded way to fast. At least Smokey navy stayed around way longer . And that’s with cold water washes and conditioner washing too.

Also my hair was kind of a darker teal , almost more teal than Iroiro Emerald Green . The trace amounts shouldn’t have been that powerful?

And the following day !

Ooh it’s bright ! Doesn’t look like the pictures on Lunar Tide’s site though.

But I like it ! Very bright and jewel toned ! It reminds me of Punky’s turquoise , as it’s more green toned than Iroiro’s Turquoise. It goes to show just because multiple brands make a color , undertones can definitely vary .

Here’s the back , it’s more green electric Baja blast towards my roots and more cool blue turquoise on the ends .

Honestly this looks more like the pics of their other shade Sea Witch , which I still may try . I will say that this color did while fading faster than Iroiro, it stuck to my crown and head better. Like it did sort of an even fade, which I don’t have pics of my severely faded Cyan Blue , it sort of morphed into an icy blue pastel shade. It’s honestly pretty nice and a livable fade.

I really like this color ,although I wish it had been this vibrancy longer . But I do understand the appeal of Lunar Tides for those that want to swap their hair color frequently, they fade nice without really leaving traces or stains. But for someone like me or even those that want a longer lasting color that’s kind of detrimental. I’ll eventually get to writing my Magnum Opus on the pros and cons of each brand of rainbow hair dye. It’s coming ! Eventually , but in the mean time I’ll be trying to decide if I want to go back to Cyan Sky , Iroiro Emerald Green , or try out some other colors like Seawitch , Lime Crime’s Anime , or even Lunar Tide’s darker Cerulean Sea. I have three dyes in my cart so we’ll have to see which one is next. Have a great week everyone !

    1. Yes the fast fades can be detrimental , That’s one of the reasons I’m so hesistent to pull the trigger on Sea Witch, but my curiosity is realky growing . I wonder if I could mix it with the emerald green and get a stronger shade ? And thanks ✨
