Where is the Urban Decay Moondust Ice Out palette ?

Finally something cool from Urban Decay !

So I frequent many beauty leaks servers and I’ve also seen this palette on Trendmood as well. I was honestly impressed with the icy color story . Plus I’ve never owner a Moondust palette or shadow. I was super close to buying one of the original colorful Moondust palettes .

I feel like I took colorful Urban Decay for granted .

I always heard that it was kind of a dusty formula ( I mean it is called Moondust) so I passed and was content with my Urban Decay Electric Palette. If I only knew I would’ve snatched it up back then > Quick it’s time to build a Time Machine . Well maybe not , if you ever watched Stein’s Gate , that’s a horrible idea . But after the first Moondust palette was discontinued, multiple other iterations of Moondust have appeared . Mainly in neutral shades and in singles, but there have been some newer Moondust palettes .

I liked the bottom palette more but the top’s Emo Cowboy shade looks fantastic, plus the name.

And about 8 months ago this special star shaped palette .

All of these Moondust palettes are sold out, so seeing an Icy version that I actually wanted was kind of exciting.

But The Ice Out palette has yet to release so far. It was announced three months ago, and it’s been crickets. I even checked Urban Decay’s Instagram and TikTok pages , as well as Trendmood . Many commenters on the Trendmood post were saying that possibly Urban Decay pulled a Tarte’s Icy Betch style April Fools joke. But no that couldn’t be right. But I had a theory , what if because of the massive increase in tariffs , this palette was canceled ? Plus quite a few makeup components and formulas are made in China , so could Urban Decay be postponing this release ? I googled in case maybe it did release and just no on was talking about it, and found one review on TikTok , and she explained that she bought it off a site called Taobao, which is a Chinese online shopping market, but many name brands have stores on thier platform . So I also decided to check Xiaohongshu as well , to see if there were any posts of the palette. I found Urban Decay’s official Xiaohongshu page too.

Oh wow ! It’s legit !

So Moondust Ice Out is region locked lol ! I need to use Xiaohongshu more too, I mean it’s like the best version of TikTok and Instagram with makeup, cute cooking tutorials , and tons of animal pages ! At least that’s my. Xiaohongshu algorithm . But back to the Moondust , wow it’s real and looks super pretty. definitely something I would buy if it gets released in the states .

Also looking back at the leaked picture and comparing it with multiple users on Xiaohongshu, I can see the darker silver , a blue lilac shift duochrome, a white/pink silver , and more blue/shift white . This looks to be the perfect icy cool palette , and going by other’s pictures this formula reminds me of some of the shimmers in the Girlcult palette , more of sort of sheer topper , that has a lot of sparkle . Of course this just me going other’s pictures and videos on Xiaohongshu.

Will we ever get this iteration of Moondust in the west ? I’m not sure to be honest , but if anyone reading has been lucky enough to get their hands on Moondust Ice Out palette let me know your thoughts on the formula and wear time ? I would love to hear more about it . Have a great week .

  1. The release that drove me mad was YSL’s blushes I saw at least 4 months in advance. Sometimes MAC does this too, having Asia exclusive launches. I’m happy for people there, but also sad for myself lol.

    1. Same , happy for them but sad for myself . They’re super lucky , and I remember hearing about some of the MAC exclusives too . Maybe UD will send some of those palettes in our countries too .

      1. Yes, even though I’m not interested in that particular one from UD, I don’t like the idea of restrictions anywhere. lol. So, hopefully they will make it globally available.

  2. I have the original Moondust palette, and I’ve seen the newer variations pop up, but I didn’t know about the Ice Out palette. It is interesting that it’s only available in China. It does make it seem like Urban Decay is waiting to figure out tariffs before releasing it in the US and everywhere else (if they ever do release it)

    1. Lucky ! I would love the original Moondust palette , I wanted it but never pulled the trigger .
      Well hopefully we’ll eventually see a US release of the Ice out and maybe some more colorful palettes from UD as well .

  4. Ooooo! Great post on Moondust! I have UD’s original palette and actually bought it at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s! I don’t use it often but your post is making me want to wear it a bit more. Those icy shades are gorge!

      2. They really are . I remember one of my friend’s had the Alice in Wonderland UD palette , that thing was massive . I do still have some older Too Faced Bon Bons and even some of their singles too
