girlcult the classic of bizzare tales eyeshadow palette in cyber tears review

IMG_6265So I saw this palette online in both a reddit forum and also Chic Desent’s website as well as Aliexpress. Plus I read an article , which I can’t seem to find talking about this new brand from China called Girlcult. The brand is fairly new and like Flower Knows and Kaleidos is very popular with C-Beauty fans. I kept telling myself I wouldn’t get any more palettes till I got my hands on at least one of The Classic of Bizarre Tales palettes, and while there is at least 3 other palettes in the Classic of Bizarre Tales , I wanted that blue !I was super excited to hear these palettes have multichrome shades . the more expensive one has at least 4 multichromes. It’s currently on my wishlist so maybe in the future I’ll add that to my collection.

I added the promo picture as on the sides is a story of Cybermen traveling through space and time to the Qing dynasty. So this is definitely a science fiction themed palette and it’s not too often that a makeup line has lore . I like that about this company , it’s very unique and has a very clear vision and theme of what the products are . I love themes and makeup! Plus I’m rewatching Doctor Who lol.

IMG_5602The packaging is beautiful !

IMG_5605Sadly I can’t read this but if anyone can translate that would be great!

IMG_5606It was packaged very well , and thankfully nothing was broken, it has a cardboard insert as well as foam to keep everything safe.

IMG_5611This is absolutely the most beautiful palette in my collection. I love the abalone shell pear on top , with the mirror finish green. This palette also has a nice weight to it, it’s a mix of plastic and metal but doesn’t feel cheap. I can see myself keeping this palette even after I pan everything.

IMG_5613I took a lot of pictures as the silver white has a nice rainbow effext to it. And the blue also has some great shift to it.

IMG_5614Look at that sparkle!

IMG_5616Also that powder blue is so much brighter than I expected ! I heard that a lot of Chinese Beauty shadows can be sheer , similar to Japanese shadows , but these are actually quite pigmented.

IMG_5617And here we have the nice purple shift, It’s harder to photograph and really depends on lighting and angle.

My first swatches. They don’t really show off the true colors here and I had to take quite a bit more. But these are good for showing off the mattes, which imo are amazing! The brown is a nice ashy cool tone and the blue is super bright sky blue. And not chalky at all, it’s almost like Glamlite Donut palette intensity.

IMG_5634Here you can see the blue shimmer better where the photo’s on top make the blue look more silvery. Also it has like a darker base that looks sheer in certain lighting. It does great over a glitter glue but for my swatches I swiped on bare skin.

IMG_5635And here’s the fabled purple shift! I was so happy after many different angles , going into other rooms , using flash and no flash! I was disappointed that I wasn’t able to capture the rainbow shimmers in the silver swatch though.

And let’s do some looks . This is a very small palette with just 4 shades , but I was still able to do at least 3 looks . I could probably do more but I would need to add some other shades from other palettes.

My first look is when I redyed my hair:

IMG_5872I used all four shades, the brown blended out really well, and is honestly one of the better brown shades that I own. I used a fluffy brush to blend it out and I did use Nyx white liner to make the colors really pop along with glitter glue to make the shimmers stay put. I used that bright blue matte and the blue multichrome on top along with the silver in the inner corner.

IMG_5868I feel like this is a palette I would bring along with me to travel with, I do wear a lot of blue shadows and it’s so tiny.

IMG_5854my blue eyes closed !

IMG_5832And I tried to match my lips too !

Next up let’s try the blue multichrome by itself!

This one I took alot of pictures of just the eyes.

IMG_6179I only used Nyx glitter glue so it would stick , plus I applied with my fingers. Up close it looks way more sheer than further away.

IMG_6176You can definitely see more of the purple reflect here.

and with flash:

IMG_6166My eyes just look wet .

IMG_6170And here we go with no flash but alot of lighting. There’s the nice aqua blue shift to purple and like a bit of silver .

IMG_6175I think wearing this by itself is nice if you don’t want to go hard core blue but you want to zazz up the eyes a bit.

IMG_6203And now from further away.

IMG_6197

IMG_6228It looks more aqua blue on the eyes, but the shift is still there just really hard to photograph.

Now for the final look !

I wanted to do sort of smokey halo, but this time instead of using the blue multichrome I used the silver.

IMG_6229And I finally did it ! I captured the holographic look of the silver on my eyes! It’s of course out of focus , but you can see how nice it looks. It’d be great for Christmas and New Years!

IMG_6231I’m still amazed at how pigmented the blue matte is. The silver still looks nice , although less rainbow-y here.

IMG_6244It does look a bit more white/silver further away.

IMG_6264IMG_6235Well I think I may have found a new favorite brand ! These little palettes are amazing, a bit pricier since they have to be imported , but totally worth it. I do still want to try Kaleidos but Girlcult definitely has my heart. I want more of these small mini Bizarre Tales palettes, they’re beautiful on the outside and inside.  Also before I forget , it was hard finding the actual name of this palette , online it’s listed as #45, but depending on the site you order from , this blue one can be titled cyber tears, girl crying cyber tears, or Oceanic Depths. You can find this palette on Alpha Beauty , Chic Descent as well as certain shops on Aliexpress. I think the best way to search is cyber tears or  The Classic of Bizarre Tales collection. There’s four palettes as well as color shifting eyeliners, lipstick and lip gloss. So let me know what you think of this palette and if I should pick up more pieces of the Bizarre Tales collection. Have a great week!

    1. The packaging really got me interested and then the actual shadow is pretty good too ! And yes I do love the intrigue with this brand . They have one other collection too that’s more bright that I was possibly interested in too .
