juvia’s place afrogalactic palette sneak peek

IMG_6320

Hey everyone !! My fiancé surprised me with the beautiful and futuristic Afrogalactic by Juvia’s Place!

I saw this palette when it was released on Instagram , but I didn’t know if I really needed , will my fiancé decided I did lol . And you know what the color story is amazing !

IMG_6328And because this is a sneak peek , I’ll just show off the palette from this angle , but I do want to say the packing is gorgeous as well . The palette has some really nice futuristic/traditional African art , set against a holographic black background.
IMG_6347Also to my surprise some of these shades are not just duochrome but are Multichrome ! Spirals and Wakanda have some amazing shifts , which are kind of hard to photograph correctly. I had to do multiple shots of my arm in different lighting and angle . It’s so much easier to see in video or on the eye .

IMG_6391I’ll definitely be showing off more of those pictures in the full review. Also they actually did a good job with the mattes with glitter in them . Look how nice that black and magenta are ! Also a duochrome olive color ! Plus greys and silver duochromes too.

IMG_6399Wakanda and Spirals are the shiftiest in the palette , but there is also a color changing purple to pink , as well as some of the silvers and white/gold. I do need to play with this palette more this week . But was so excited with the colors !
I only have one eye look to share with you all , but I was super impressed with multichromatic effect . I used Spirals on top and Wakanda on the lower lid . My base was my Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner . It’s such a soft kohl liner that I was able to draw out my eye shape and later swipe on multichromes shades with my fingers . I did not do the rest of my face and it was the end of the day , so these are just the eye pics !

IMG_6403These are all the same eyes but different lighting

IMG_6405

IMG_6406I took so many pictures as it looked so different , This last one you can see green and like a bronze, but the first ones showed a bit more of a pink reflect.

And finally a suprise ! I used the same black kohl liner again drew my shape and wing and smudged the bottom on lash line. This time using Wakanda on top and Orbit on the bottom. And the grey matte Solar on the rest of my lid and brow bone. I wanted to grunge up my look a bit. There’s a bit of gold shimmer flakes in Solar , but because I used a fluffy brush, I didn’t really see any glitter on my eyes.

IMG_6501Direct light , Wakanda is more bright aqua blue and I want to say Orbit is a pink to blue , but I’ll have to try it on it’s own the really see.

IMG_6499Here’s the pink to aqua shift

IMG_6497Now more of pink and purple.

IMG_6492I kept using different lights and no flash, but at least the pink/purple is captured.

IMG_6491Out of focus , but you can see the pink , blue, and possibly purple.

IMG_6465I had to do different head tilts to get it to show on my eyes.

IMG_6487It honestly reminds me of like peacock or those fantasy dragon statues by Windstone Editions.

IMG_6508

My friend’s family had a set of these dragons. The father , Mother and hatchling and they have this peacock look to them. I sadly only have a winged Angel wolf from this company , but hey at least their eyes glow when I put a candle in the head .

Well so far I really like this palette, I still need to try all the other colors, but it’s nice size , not too big like the two Culture palettes, about the size of original Wahala. I will say I think the multichrome formula is a little better than Fake in Wahala 2, like I loved Fake and still use it quite a bit but these seem softer and easier to work with and stay on my eyes longer. The above pictures we after a shopping trip , hours after being applied. I did use setting spray and the sticky kohl pencil , but I thought my makeup would be a little smudged .  I will try to get my full review up soon . But before I go , I’m also sharing my Tiktok video that shows off the shift of Wakanda. let me know what you think. Have a great week!

@theoliveunicorn

So my swatches didn’t capture alot of the shiftiness of the multichromes , but you can see it on the eyes ! I’m loveing this palette , I just used a black kohl liner and used the shades Wakanda on top and Oribit on the bottom , the grey ash shade on lids is Solar . I’ll be doing a few more looks with this palette and if you want to see more check out Olive Unicorn Beauty on WordPress . #juviasplace #juviasplaceafrogalactic #afrogalacticpalette #multichromeeyeshadow #duochromeyeshadow #colorshiftingmakeup #lunartideshairdye #lunartidesmoonstone #lunartidessmokeynavy #boldeyeshadow #beautytok #beautyreviews #oliveunicornbeautyblog #alttiktok #altmakeup #bluehair #scenehaircolor #boldeyeliner #makeuptok

  1. Wow the shift on Wakanda is really pretty! I also wasn’t aware of Windstone Editions. I checked the website and now I want a baby dragon! lol. So pricey but the details and colors are so impressive!

    1. It’s definitely one of my favorites in the palette 💕 . And yes I love the Windstone Editions designs , I need take pics of the spirit wolf that I have , it’s not colored but it has blue eyes , and they light up with a candle . There used to be a shop in my area that carried them , they had the pearl dragons , griffons and unicorns . But yes they are so pricey now . You may be able to find one at a second hand store or website for a little less .

    1. Thanks so much ! I’m not sure how readily available Juvia’s Place is where you are but , I would definitely recommend this palette , it has some amazing colors in it , plus the multichrome and duochromes are really fun to play around with . I have quite a bit of JP palettes and I think this is my new favorite .

      1. Yeah some of the bigs ones are so pretty but too big to travel lol . The little mini palettes are nice though , they have six colors so you can play around with those and mix and match them. I have the pink , violets , and one other purple as I use those colors alot .

    1. I still need to use the purple , I’m slowly trying out all the shades and combinations. Yesterday I used the greys , black and silver shimmer and the red . I’ll have to post more pics up soon .
