beakey 5 piece makeup sponge set review

IMG_3414

Hey everyone ! So my finace surprised me with some blending sponges . Or lets just call them what they are meant to be beauty blenders, I know they are not the official Beauty Blender , but thats what they’re used for.

IMG_3416There are the Beakey brand blenders and this pack is rainbow, they’re pretty cute. Plus I always need spare blenders so this was a pretty cool. My last non beauty blender blender that I tried was theBeauty Bakerie Blending Egg , which while adorable and packaged very nicely , were a bit too stiff for my tastes. Of course some like a more stiff blender and that’s okay.  But how do these compare with the two Beauty Blenders that I own?

So this a nude version of the original Beauty Blender , I got this one free bundled with the beauty blender skin tint that Influenster sent me.

IMG_3423So the Beakey Blender is a bit bigger and wider while the Beauty Blender one is smaller and softer. The Beaky Blender is a bit firmer than this one , but not quite as stiff as the Beauty Bakery egg . Also both blenders are dry in this picture.

And now let’s compare the Bio beauty blender ( my favorite ) to the Beakey.

IMG_3422Beakey still bigger and wider , and not quite as soft. The Beauty Blender Bio pure is still the softest blender that I own , and even softer than the original Beauty Blender.

So now let’s see how big it is my hand dry and wet.

IMG_3424You know maybe it didn’t get that much bigger , but it’s still bigger than the beauty blender when wet. Now as for how it performs . I actually was impressed with it. While being a bit more firm than my other two blenders. This one still blended my foundation, concealer and I was even able diffuse my blush with this as well. I don’t have the pictures for the blush but I do have one where I used it for my foundation.

IMG_3562I think it did a good job , honestly I liked these better than Beauty Bakerie eggs ( even though those were adorable) and they’re not a bad replacement for my original Beauty Blenders. I still like the softness of the Bio Pure blender and I’ll honestly probably still buy another one of those when my second one finally falls apart, but these are nice to have as well. Plus if you’re on a budget and just need some good blenders , these aren’t a bad price plus you can 5 blenders for less than the Beauty Blender price. They work exactly the same , blush might take a bit more time to diffuse with these compared to bio pure, but they will do. let me know what you think. I’ve also had Paw Paw blenders reccomended as well? Does anyone have any thoughts on those ?

  1. I haven’t heard of this brand, but that’s good that you’re having more enjoyment with their sponge than the beauty bakerie ones. I’ve also heard good things about the paw paw ones but never tried it myself.

    1. The paw paw’s are on my to try list along with real technique bio degradable blenders . Supposedly you can put them in your garden and they just become part of the soil . I know super gimmicky but interesting .
