Revlon Super Lustrous Cream Lipstick in Midnight Mystery Review

As promised in my Sugar Violet gloss review , I mentioned a horrible dud of a lipstick . And here it is , so terrible . Lets get this one over with . I don’t like spending too much time on bad reviews .

So my reasoning for this purchase was I wanted to try a dark/black lipstick. I used to wear them when I was younger but most of the formulas were pretty lacking . And you could only get black during halloween unless it was through Manic Panic’s makeup line . And even those were kind wierd.  So in my quest to find a nice black shade  I saw this and was like “Oh wow ! It reminds of Prudence’s lipstick in the Sabrina series”.

As you can see the lipstick in the tube looks beautiful. Its a nice black with blue shimmer , so I was curious as to how this would look on my lips. Would it look all Galaxy like? Or witchy? Sadly it looks neither as its streaky and slips around . Like this may be the worst lipstick I’ve bought in a long time.

 

 

  The formula is very slippery , with no noticable smell . It applies with obvious streaks , and just looks pretty bad upclose or far away . Also I notice it tends to spread really badly.Its one of those that I wouldn’t leave the house with this on . The only thing I can think to do with it now is to use it as a topper to one of my grey or dark blue shades . Well thats all I have to say about this lipstick for now . I would not recommend this , its pretty cheap online but definitely not worth it .  With dark colors like black and grey , you need a pretty solid formula to look polished . Any imperfections and it can really ruin the whole dark lip look.  Have any of you guys tried a product that was just bad ? And if so were you happy when it was a cheaper drugstore product( not a lot of money wasted) or was your experience with a pricier prestige product? Let me know in the comments .

Bonus review:Midnight Mystery over Nyx Haze.

Okay so I decided to wipe off the gross gunk and try it out over Haze, the grey matte lip from Nyx. And it was okay, honestly it juist made Haze greasy, I feel like I get a better effect with Unicorn Tears or the Matte-Talic transformer over my grey lip.

Yeah its not the best topper either. its just a bad lipstick.No more Revlon stuff for a while for me.
