Tequila Sunrise Eyes

Today I wanted to play around with some colors, and originally had planned on using the Urban Decay Element’s palette for a look. But I opened it and wasn’t really feeling it. So I decided I wanted to use the Zulu palette instead. And this is what I came up with. I wanted to come up with a cool name so I named it after the popular Tequila Sunrise drink since the colors are similar , well aside from you know the purple I added. But oh well I’m keeping the name .

Products I used:

  • Nyx White Eyeshadow Base
  • Juvia’s Place The Zulu palette: colors used the bright watermelon pink/red color, Canary yellow color, and the neon purple.
  • Too Faced Life’s A Festival palette: colors used : Fun in the Sun ( the duochrome yellow with slight green shift) and Beamin’ (the white gold color).
  • Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon’s palette: in Cashew Chew
  • Neutragena nude 40 powder foundation
  • Nyx Epic Liner
  • Revlon Volume + Length Mascara
  • Rimmel Stay Glossy The Future is Pink lip gloss
  • Too Faced Melted Chihuahua

So I honestly was going to use a different color for my lid but I was really liking how warm and kinf of moody the colors were. I of course started off with the Nyx shadow base, and used a fluffy brush with the bright pink watermelon color from The Zulu, a blended it out as much as I could. I thought it was too pink though so I added the bright yellow color from The Zulu as well. used the same fluffy brush to kind of blend it upwards. this looked pretty cool but messy. So I then added the purple color ( also from The Zulu) and pressed in to my crease, V and underneath my lids as well.I blended into the other colors to make it look a bit more uniform. I decided I would try to cut the crease with the white shadow base, and used my flat clean brush to do that. Now originally I was going to use the Turqouise blue from Urban Decay’s Elements, but I wasn’t feeling it. I thought maybe I needed to do a gold,  or yellow shimmer. So I grabbed the Life’s A Festival palette and used Fun in The Sun on the lid and Beamin’ in the inner corner. they kind of blended together but I liked the overall look. Also Cashew Chew was added to soften up my brow a bit  too. Finally mascara , liner and gloss to put everything together .

It was side ponytail day!

Well I was super happy with how it turned out. I still need to play around with some other color schemes, that way I don’t get stuck in a rut. Most of the week I’ve been doing a purple look or looks from The Douce or Sugarpill funsize. But I liked doing a bit more of a warm toned sunset. Plus it gives me a chance to use some of the golds/yellows that I don’t use too often. I have Mardi Gras inspired look that I need to recreate as well.  Well have a goodnight everyone and have a good weekend.
