eos holiday colletcion : cotton candy snowball, lump of coal and sparkling sugar plum review

IMG_7246Hey everyone ! This post is a few months late , as I got this set for Christmas. I still had one of the Pumpkin Spice lip balms from before Christmas and it seemed like that one lasted forever . So after I finally finished off the Pumpkin Spice , let’s check out holiday flavors for Spring !

IMG_7247So the three flavors we have are Cotton Candy Snow ball ( I tested this one out a few Christmas’s ago ) A lump of Coal ;which is really just more improved version of Marshmallow fluff.  And Sparkling Sugar Plum. This is the one I really wanted to try as I used to love the Sugar plum Lipsmackers. I actually had to stop and go look up the flavor to see if anyone else remembered it and I found a really cool blog that reviews and talks about other LipSmacker flavors . You can check out their Sugarplum post here. Also I had the Sugarplum lipsmackers in the shimmery holographic tube. it was awesome !

So my finace grabbed the wrong one first and tried the marshmallow fluff or Lump of Coal . I’m not really sure how a Lump of Coal is supposed to smell like a marshmallow , but I’m not the one to ask these questions. It was a relief though , to see that EOS improved their Marshmallow Fluff scent and flavor from last time. I believe that was the Toasted Marshmallow and it just wasn’t marshmallowy enough for my tastes . The Lump of Coal is so much better. It’s got the sort of powder sugar scent , mixed with the vanilla and some other nice sweet flavor. It’s a bit waxier on my lips than the pumpkin EOS , but it’s still better than the Prada lip balm. Like I could use this as a lip primer and not have to worry about my lipstick slipping around. The scent is sweet and marshmallowy but not overpowering and it really does kind of smell like I took a bite of marshmallow.

The next balm is of course the cotton candy snowball, this is the white EOS egg. It’s a really sweet candy scent , and while I’ve had it before , it’s been a while since I tried it last. It also kind of reminds me of those Smarties candies . probably the second best out of the after the marshmallow fluff. Also this balm is a bit dryer than the other two .

And finally the sugarplum. This one was kind of a let down. My fiance tried it and hated it lol. I tried it after him and was not really getting the nice lipsmacker vibes . But instead it unlocked a memory, of childhood Christmas’s and getting some sort of knock off lip balm that had a very artificial taste and smell. I was trying to describe it to my fiance when he also had the realization , he got the same lip balm from his mother too on Christmas . What was it with Mom’s and this particular flavor. I remember it being a red tube, and pink shade lip blam , and it was super artificially scented , like weirdly sugary and also perfumy. Now I did try to look online for a picture of what lip balm it was , but typing in vintage 90’s red lip balm didn’t really yield any results. Mostly just pictures of the superior classic LipSmackers. So sadly I think the gross balm of Christmas Past is now just a lost artifact.

Well after all that , The Marshmallow fluff was best one in the three and honestly a really good marshmallow flavor compared to the original toasted marshmallow.  The Cotton Candy was also pretty good and a nice candy flavor, sweet , takes a while to really get it to spread on your lips though. But once it kind of melts , it’s easier to apply.  And lastly the sugar plum, it was juts not good but it did bring back Christmas memories . And you know now that I’m looking at the search results it could’ve possibly been an Avon lipbalm ? It kind of makes since , but still just curious do any of you remember getting some wierd red tube lip balms ? Let me know in the comments . Have a great week !
