lunar tides smokey navy diluted

IMG_5021You may remember my previous review of Lunar Tides Smokey Navy. originally this was the dye my little sister was using , but she ha since changed hair colors. So she gifted me a full jar of smokey navy. And because I’ve been playing around with different shades of blue I thought it would be a good to try and dilute this with some white conditioner as it’s a very intense dark shade.

it looks almost black .

IMG_5024 Here’s an older picture to really show off what it looks like .  Also I may have gone over this before in my last review but the dye does smell pretty good . It’s very conditioning as well and made my hair pretty soft after rinsing it out . Of course I did add extra conditioner so maybe that was the real reason lol .

In the jar it does have some purple tones , but I noticed when I diluted it with conditioner it started to look a bit more teal or turquoise. It’s still very much a Smokey shade , but just to let those know , you have to have platinum or silver hair hair to really have it show more cool toned. Also while I started with my lilac faded silver base , I did have a little bit of blonde towards my roots . It’s not really a biggie for me but that’s why certain areas have a greenish tinge .

This was what my hair looked like before or at least a few days before . Also I tried my best to leave the ends alone . As I wanted to try to make the smokey navy cover the lilac . I was hoping I had diluted it enough for a pastel look . But it came out a bit brighter than expected .

I sadly didn’t take pictures of what the mixture looked like or how it looking my hair when it was wet . But I do have some fresh day after pictures .

And it’s blue lipstick time too ! Too bad Fenty discontinued the poutsicles line along with the Mattemoiselle lipsticks .
I guess on top it looks more powdery greyed out .

Depending on how the light hits , it can be more Smokey looking or more bright . Also I think the dye may have dropped down on the Punky bluemania ends . Since my whole head seems to be uniform.
And on an unrelated note , I also felt it was a good idea to do a smokey silvery look as well .

For the eyes I used Juvia’s place the greys palette , BH cosmetics fairy lights , Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons , Juvia’s Place Culture palette for the shimmer , and and Beauty Bay Retro Love .

So we’ll see how long it takes for this to fade and exactly how it’ll fade this week . I’m still eyeing that shade Moonstone also by Lunar Tides and I have more than enough of the Smokey Navy to blend . I literally only used a brush to dip in the dye and mix with the conditioner . So I have more than half a jar left .
