Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink UnNude Review

So when I was visiting family in Mexico , I managed to find this little gem , the Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink in the shade Philosopher. This is a very comfortable liquid matte , and stays for about 6 or 7 hours depending on what you eat(oily foods always make these smear). It takes a few minutes to dry down and smells slightly like vanilla but not overpowering .The brush applicator is paddle shaped and spreads the color on evenly without streaking . It didn’t dry out my lips too much like some other matte formulas which is a big plus.

When swatches I noticed it does have a bit of a shine to unlike many matte liquids

I find this to be a very versatile color and formula. Philosopher is a light lilac nude that looks nice with both dramatic or neutral eye looks .  I often dab a bit of gloss or glitter lipstick like Too Faced’s Unicorn Tears to add a bit of dimension . It does sometimes lift the lip color though so use a light touch .

Overall this is a fantastic matte lip that I would buy in other colors and is one of the better liquid matte formulas on the market . I look forward to trying out different colors in this line .
