Dior Diorshow overvolume mascara review

Yay some new mascara ! This time it’s from Dior . I mostly think of their colognes , so this is my first time trying their makeup .The packaging looks nice and simple .

Inside the we have a sort of faux leather looking tube made out of a hard plastic . Looks cool kind of reminds me of a whip or crop . Hmm didn’t Jeffree Star do a similar design ?

But maybe it’s meant to resemble the Dior leather purses too.

Now on the brush

The bristles are short and spikey but they’re a softer rubber which is nice . I did notice that mascara formula itself was pretty thick though, so I had to wipe off some of the excess. When I applied the mascara to my eyes though , that’s when I noticed it kind of clumps too. I knew it was thicker mascara , so it looks like your lashes are thicker and more voluminous. But it sadly made my lashes a bit spidery. I’m not a huge fan of spidery lashes as it can give off bad MLM mascara vibes. I spent a few minutes trying to separate my lashes with my fingers and another spoolie as well tweezers . A friend showed me that years ago , when in doubt use tweezers to gently separate lashes . It was a bit of a let down though as the tube does look pretty cool , and it does make my lashes a lot more noticeable . I just really dislike clumpy spidery lashes though. Which reminds me after I finish up using up this tube and a few of other mascara tubes floating around my makeup bag , I think it’s time to repurchase Milk’s Kush mascara . It’s been my favorite mascara so far . I just love how nice it makes my lashes . This one not so much .

But I did want to make a cool eye look to demo the mascara , I used a black Kohl’s liner and GirlCult’s blue multichrome , plus a white liner .

This one is bit blurry but it did make lower lashes look more dramatic, there’s a few areas though I think are a bit spidery though.

It’s a bit harder to see my top lashes but they do seem to be more clumped together for my liking. I don’t know guys , I think this could be better .

I do like how the mascara does make my lashes stand out though.

Overall it’s a decent mascara , but maybe not worth the $33 , when other similarly priced mascara ‘s perform a lot better . Off the top of my head would be the Milk Kush mascara , the Tarte Lights, Camera , Lashes mascara, and even though it was my favorite, it did make lashes fluffy , Too Faced’s Damn Girl ! mascara. But at least the tube looks cool . Well let me know some of your favorite mascaras in the comments . Have a great week ✨⭐️.

  3. My ride or die mascara is Diorshow Icon Overcurl, and it has been since it came to the wider market 10/15 years ago. One: its a great mascara that comes in both black and brown, but more importantly two: I’m not allergic to it. I’ve watched them through the years try to top it with all sorts of gimmicky mascara and lash treatments but they got it right way back then imo.

    1. I’ll have to try the Diorshow overcurl , does it also help keep your lashes curled ? It’s good that you found something that worked for you . Any idea what ingredients you are allergic to ?

      1. I think Icon does a decent job at holding the curl! I personally have short blonde lashes so I pre-curl them, then apply. I have very dewy skin, so I find if I don’t use a setting powder under my eyes, I do get a wee bit of initial smudging, but because I love the formula, I deal with it. I personally think the brown color has marginally better performance than the black. Allergy: I haven’t narrowed it down to a specific thing, but in general I am allergic to various preservatives in makeup that are meant to increase shelf life. Not ALL preservatives, but for me I tend to only tolerate about 30% of mascaras, so when I find one I like I hold on for dear life (er, lash)!

      2. Makes sense , if you find something that works for you , it’s nice to keep it in stock . I’ll have to try it soemtime. My lashes are more straight so it’s hard to get them to curl .
