Hey everyone ! I”ve been meaning to write a Zenless Zone Zero post . I started playing this game in August , and yes it’s by the same studio that makes Genshin Impact. because Genshin takes so much of my time with dailies and event’s I really didn’t want to play another gatcha game . But a friend of mine showed me a video of an upcoming character, Jane Doe.
I thought she was pretty cool and liked the idea of femme fatale rat lady . My fiance also started playing the same time as me and he also wanted the rat lady too . My initial thought was if I couldn’t win Jane Doe I would stop playing ZZZ and drop it, but I got super charmed by the amazing character designs, nice slower slice of life cyberpunk story and the music !
Also I fell in love with Billy Kid’s gameplay and the character himself .
He’s so fun to play as and even though he’s a lower rank A agent , I have a lot of fun building him and using him as my main attacker. I pretty much build all my teams around him and basically got more supports for him. I didn’t get Jane doe and instead waited for his sister, Ceasar King to come out and wished on her banner instead,
And I couldn’t be happier with my decision , Ceasar is such a cool character as well, post apocalyptic roman biker girl with a heart of gold. Plus she uses a shield to block . and fast forward to now , I have so many different Billy supports Astra Yao , Lucy , Lighter ( who I now have made a main attacker for another team), Rina , and now Trigger !
What was super cool was Billy was on Trigger’s banner so i finally maxed Billy and now have his super cool name card as well. Plus you can see most of my characters I use, sadly I didn’t have enough room for Rina and Nicole , but they’re also used in a few other teams.
She’s honestly really helped my Billy team alot too as she attacks while he’s attacking and does electrical damage . This helps me out so much with electric weak enemies as my Rina wasn’t as good with Billy and Astra Yao or Ceasar.
I even cleared Deadly Assault !

Plus she had an amazing character story too .
I kind of wish they had this a background , the art looks fantastic. Plus the story was a bit of tear jerker as well. We learned early on ZZZ leaks that Trigger was a sniper, who’s team had all been wiped out and she had severe ether damage to her eyes, so now she wears a special visor to keep her eyes from basically vaporizing . She has a lot of survivor’s guilt and mourns her old teammates , and the story takes place as a sort of prequel to the main Zenless story involving the two twin proxy protagonists. I don’t want to give away too much since the story is permenent and can be played anytime , but Trigger’s banner is going away very soon.
Overall I’ve been having alot of fun with team building and the story and gameplay of Zenless Zone Zero. The combat is very fast paced and has more in common with old fighting games or beat them up, so quite a bit of the game play is based around skill and players knowledge of how character kit and move set is . Plus there’s a lot of homages to older games like Megaman , Street Fighter ( Ryu’s Japanese Voice actor is also Lighter’s too) , and the music is really amazing . I’ll have to post more about individual characters and some actual gameplay videos as well. I’m still trying to make the best Billy Build a can , and also min maxing my Lighter.
Also i’m sad I didn;t get the exact screen shot where Astra Yao says Lighter is cute . It was one of my favorite interactions.
But at least I got the after part . Lighter and Astra are the best glasses characters, Although a special shout out goes to Burnice too ( I don’t have her but my fiance does).
Also more characters were leaked so while I want to possibly get another copy of Lighter I may have to save up my Polychromes for some of the new ones. Let me know what you think and if you have played Zenless Zone Zero yet. Have a great week.
