new varesa banner is crazy !

Okay this new banner is insane ! It’s been a while since I’ve done a dedicated Genshin post , but I really have to talk about this banner and why it looks like a must pull . Adn of course I’ll start off by saying for me the new land of natlan has been sort of a mixed bag. Storyline has been mixed with some highs (the Ochakanatlan story was amazing and some of the lore drops ) and them some lows ( Natlan is fantasy land based on pre-Colonial Mesoamerican , African and Polynesian cultures , but the some of the characters are very pale and may not really reflect the the cultures they represent). I could go on paragraphs on why some of the design choices didn’t really vibe with me , with a few exceptians like Xilonen (based on jaguar godess) and Citlali (based on Mesoamerican goddess immortal grandmother also inspired by La Bruja stories ) and little Varesa too (cow Luchadore). These ones I felt like had more obvious nods to the Mexican culture but some of the Polynesian ( Mauvika I’m looking at you and your black leather one piece motorcycle suit) and Ororon (mix of an African star god and Aztec bat god ) could’ve been better .  But because of this I have been able to save up pretty much all my wishes as a mostly free to play player . I did have some Welken Moon since my fiance gifted me a few months for Christmas and Valentines Day, I’ve been pretty good on wishes . My previous pulls have been Xilonen and her weapon .She debuted last October .

And this month’s Furina rerun .

I’m still building her . Also i had no idea I was going to wish on Furina but my Fiance suggested her since I was having some trouble on a new battle event . She’s a buffer and would work well with my Arlecchino and Klee. 

So back to the banner :

This is an awesome banner ! We have of course the new Cow Luchador girl ,  Gaming , the plunge claymore lion dancer , Iansan the new buffing character that’s considered a must have for electro buffs , and Chevereus for Electro/Fire damage . Also Chevereus works so well in Arlecchino teams , and I’ve only gotten her twice so far. I’m hoping I can max out her constellations to have the very much coveted C6 Chevereus . 

Excuse the Hoyo pics , but the rest of my character pics are actually on my Xbox . But basically all of these characters will work with so many of my characters and the leaked stats for Iansan look really promising with her rumored to be a great attack buffer and a must have for Varesa and electro teams .

Plus she is really cute ! And she’s also one of the leaked early characters along Cyno , Lyney and Lynette. Which I have all three , so I really need Iansan to complete my collection.

And then there’s 5 star Varesa :

She was leaked earlier this year and while I was kind of annoyed that Capitano wasn’t one of the leaked characters , I liked the idea of a cow girl luchador who fights by plunging on her enemies . Plus she has a different body style than the current small lady character models .Also she’s supposed to be insane with exploration , running like a cartoon character , and even running on water too . My fiance said she was super gimmicky but definitely seemed like she would work well with my Xilonen and Xianyun (who’s also rerunning alongside her ).

Xianyun’s also one of my favorite characters too, and having another plunge character that works with her is just amazing !I mostly use Klee to do plunges but to mix it up with Varesa , or Gaming seems really fun . But Xianyun’s rerun also means that the weapon banner is also blessed , if I lose Varesa’s weapon ,I may get another copy of Xianyan’s catalyst . So it’s really turning into a win/win for me . My only worry is will I be able to win the four stars I want and have multiple copies ? And I appologize to my readers that don’t play Genshin , so I’ll explain , having multiple copies of the 4 star characters usually unlocks more of thier talents or buffs and sometimes makes them on par with the coveted 5 stars . It just can be especially painful when wishing on banners and they give you multiples of one four star and none of the one you specifically want.  I’ll rewind to the current Furina banner .

When I wished on this banner , I didn’t win Furina right away and it took me 80 or 90 wishes to win Furina . I lost my 50/50 and won a standard 5 star Keqing which was kind of lame , but I percievered until Furina appeared. Sadly the 4 stars on this weren’t my favorite as I already have the blonde ice boy , Mika , and silver haired Chongyun maxed out . But I really wanted Charlotte the news reporter . out of all those wishes , they gave me multiple Mika’s and Chongyuns and only  one Charlotte 😢. I was a little sad but also after Furina finally showed up I didn’t want to waste more wishes since I knew Varesa was coming up. And I’m glad , since the 4 stars look way better on Varesa’s and I’m going to need all those wishes to secure Varesa , her Weapon , at least one Iansan and a Chevereus , and maybe a few Gaming’s . So please no more Mika’s or  Chongyuns as I’m good . 

Also as of posting this if any of you want Furina or Writhsoley , you better wish now , because we have no idea when we’ll see them again . Good luck wishing everyone !

And finally I swear if they release Capitano on a banner right after Varesa I’ll go rabid!

Why Genshin why? I need this man too ! I need the spooky chivelerous undead knight now ! Well hopefully I can save up for him (if they choose to release him) and max out Klee too . Well good luck everyone ! Let me know in the comments if you play genshin and what are some of your favorites .
