girlcult miao witchcraft love whisper lipcream in black and blue G79 review

Hi everyone ! I was so excited to order this lip stain from the GirlCult Miao witchcraft collection , but I got super busy and really needed to redo my roots and try a new hair color. So I waited till now . I finally opened up and swatched , and it was totally worth the wait.  Also I have some promo pictures of rest of the collection on one of my previous posts last year. I do still want one of the palettes and some of the blushes and highlighters but I’m going slow in beauty bays this year. I’m still using and panning some of my older products , palettes and even had to toss a Nyx Blue candy gloss. I was pretty sad to toss it but the formula became old and goopy and a little gross . So it’s nice that the same day I tossed it was when I opened up and tried this beautiful lip clay (or cream I’m not sure which it would be considered). Also the number is G79 and because I can’t  speak Cantonese , and finding the name has been kind of hard with Girlcult in general . But if you want to search on CBeauty Mall or one of the other C Beauty retailers it’s Girlcult Miao collection lip cream in #79 black and blue. There are other shades and colors , but this one really called to me .

Look at this packaging ! It’s beautiful and the lip cream tube has a nice weight to it.

The metal top is a nice touch along with the star . It feels a bit like Luxury lipstick tubes in the US , or at least on par with Urban Decay .

And here’s the top of the Tube , this is so nice ! I really like brand’s that have nice aesthetics to their products , it makes reaching for your lipstick or lipgloss more fun.

And now the swatch ! So when I ordered I thought it was closer to a lip stain or lip clay , but it’s actually kind of cream , that dries down to a matte . The blue shimmer is a bit grainy but not too bad and reflects cyan and a more purple toned blue. It’s also a cooler black shade as well.  It’s scented as well , like rose oil , but it’s not too overpowering and goes away when on your lips.  I’d like to add this is a lip product I would’ve screamed over as a teen goth/alt girl . It’s literally a lipstick from my dreams.

Now it’s time for lip pics !

This is without flash , but I pointed my light so you could see the blue shimmer. It’s harder to see in my full face pics but up close you can really see all the blue sparkle. I applied this pretty quickly and so it’s not the best application , but it covers really well and yes it is a matte but doesn’t make my lips feel like the Sahara . Also it stays on , I sipped chai, ate a juicy orange and my lipstick is still on. Not sure how it would hold up to oily food , but everything else , this lip color doesn’t budge.

Flash picture ! And we see even more blue sparkles ! This is a magical black lipstick , and it’s competing with the Fenty Kaboom gloss for my top black shimmer lip products. 

Now for full face pictures ! I actually couldn’t wait and did a seperate photo set with the same eye makeup from mascara review. I just swapped the blouses.

I tried some different angles to show off the shimmer , like you can see the sparkle , but sadly not really the blue . I do think it goes well with the darker eyeshadow though.

Up close , there’s some sparkle ✨ Again I look forward to wearing this out more and with some more gothy outfits and makeup. 

It’s just nice matte lip and while it’s a cream it acts more like stain. There are few other lip creams by Girlcult in thier other makeup lines that include browns , greys , black and some nice darker reds and nudes . I’ll be looking into reviewing more shades , as their a bit darker or grungier and I could also see some of these shades working for people with deeper skin tones too.  Oh and the formula that I keep thinking of is actually the Givenchy Cream Velvet lip sticks.   I was sent a red lipstick by Givenchy two years ago and while I really liked the formula ,I didn’t like the shade of brick red or really the other shades in cream velvet line . Honestly I gave it to a friend as it looked way better on her . 

But the Girlcult ones , these are definitely colors I will wear. And their honestly a lot less expensive than the Givenchy Le Rouge Interdit cream velvet lipsticks and that’s with shipping too.  

So while I’m trying not to sound like your typical beauty enthusiast telling you to get said product , this one is actually worth your time . It’s got the pretty packaging , nice color , really good wear time , it just might take a while to get to you depending on where you live in the world . I do wish Girlcult was sold in store in the states, or maybe not as it would be super dangerous for me , passing a Girl Cult display in real life .  Well let me know what you think !
