Tazo Chocolate Chai latte review

*This product was sent out to me from Influenster and Tazo for testing purposes in exchange for my honest review.

So I was super lucky with this next thing thta Influenster sent me , Tazo chocolate chai latte !  I really like Tazo tea products and have tried most of their tea concentrates . My last being the seasonal  pumpkin spice chai, and a really delicious matcha melon ( which is hard to find in my area ). I need to find it though so I can review it though.

But back to the Chocolate Chai :

And it looks like they actually put some chocolate syrup and cocoa powder.  I honestly wondered when they would make a chocolate chai , as before I would just add chocolate powder or chocolate almond milk to my chai . It’s really good and sort of similar to Mexican Hot Chocolate but with the added bonus of the ginger and cloves . This concentrate however is pretty heavy on the spices , especially the clove , cardamom, cinnamon and black pepper. The ginger isn’t as strong and sadly the chocolate is really weak. It’s there and I can taste it , but instead of going with a stronger dark chocolate , they opted to go with a milk malt chocolate flavor instead and I don’t think it pairs as well.  The spices overpower the more subdued malt chocolate , which is a bit nutty , but I think it could be so much better with a more bitter dark chocolate. There used to be this organic chocolate bar company that used to make some really good chocolates and among the flavors I used to buy from them was a spicy hot pepper and a chai flavor . Both were dark dark chocolate bases as it paired better with the spices.

Overall it’s a nice drink mix but I do think it could be better. I think next time I find this in the store , I’m going to mix it with either dark chocolate almond milk or add it to  Ibarra Mexican chocolate .
