*There may be mild spoilers but this is more of a gaming diary rather than review .
I’m trying to do some more game blogging , but I’m super slow with finishing games . It’ll take me months to finish some games . Yakuza 0 took me almost a full year. But not Yakuza Kiwami , the remake of the first Yakuza . It was more like 6 months but I had to play this alongside Pokemon Violet ( review coming sometime soon ) Genshin Impact ( it’s a live game that’s ongoing ) Lethal Company ( a pc co-op game that I play with friends ) and thankfully I beat this before Elden Ring . Yay! I didn’t do all the mini games and side quests but I finished a majority of them .
One of my favorites being the Fighter quest , this is the one where we meet up with our old pal Fighter of the Pocket Circuit . Kiryu has been in prison for a few years for a crime he didn’t commit . But thankfully he still has some of his old friends to hang out and race toy cars with !
And the kid’s from yakuza 0 are here too ! But their older and have jobs and dreams of thier own . this story hit kind of different for me as I finished it up after beating the main story . Which was kind of bittersweet , and sadly Kirya loses some of his adopted family , so he knows probably more than anyone the importance of keeping your friends close and on good terms . he teaches this to the friend trio and even convinces the guy in the glasses to take over Fighter’s job in Poket racing . Fighter is getting married and has to find work in another town with his new fiance and can’t run the Pocket racing circuit anymore. I spent so much time on this quest , finding the other grown up kids ( we met them all when they were 11 in Yakuza 0) and challenging each one to a race. I had to collect so many toy car parts and look up strategies to winning . It was kind of insane. Sadly I don’t have any pics of Kiryu losing , they’re in my opinion hilarious. this is a man who’s been to prison , seen things , worked for organized crime and the thing that makes him lose it the most is when his toy car flies off track .
And for my second favorite storyline quest ! The MesuKing card game ! Here you challenge children to a card duel with bikini lady bug fairies. It’s hilarious and sadly my xbox deleted my pictures of the scantily clad bug ladies. I did however find some on the gaming wiki and a site that you can print out your very own MesuKing cards.

The game is pretty rediculous.
I did my best to hunt down all the MesuKing cards as their hidden in many areas , and can be obtained in certain shops . I finished most of this quest , but I still have the game saved on my xbox series S so i may go back and finsh this quest .
Other parts that I enjoyed were the Majima everywhere ,where you can find Majima in unexpected places and he’ll fight you. Some of these were harder than others as Majima changes his fighting style depending on where you find them. He also wears multiple costumes and disguises , such as a hostess , police officer, zombie or dancer . And he can be literally anywhere , including the bowling alley, a taxi, manhole cover, or under a giant traffic cone. I’m also proud to say I maxed out all my fighting styles ! So I was able to beat the end game fairly easily .

As for the story I felt it was bitter sweet , there’s so many betrayals and Kiryu loses so many of his friend’s and adopted family , but he does have to stay strong for , Haruka , who is one of his friend’s daughter. The relationship between them is really sweet and the end game has you go to lengths to protect her . When the final scenes hit , I definitely wanted to play the third but I’m keeping my game que empty so I can focus on some other games. But I do plan on playing the rest of the Yakuza series , it’ll just be really slow . Hopefully I can go through some of my game library though. Let me know in the comments if you have played any of the other Yakuza or Like a Dragon games. Which ones were your favorite ?

That’s awesome that you finished it! I still have so many of the Yakuza games to get through as well. I want to, but my hubby and I are still trying to finish up the Legends of Heroes series (We’re in Act 3 of Cold Steel IV).

I want to start Yakuza 2 but I’m holding off until I can finish some other games. Oh yeah I remember you were playing The Legends of Heroes series . I saw that series was on Crunchyroll ( or at least one of them ) .

I saw your post about it, but didn’t get to experience it in person. My hubby never finished the game, unfortunately!

Aw definitely find someone playing the game again , the new bosses and area are really cool ! It actually took me almost 2 years to finish the base game . I dropped it and finally picked it back up .
