shea moisture coconut & hibiscus curl & shine shampoo review

*This product was gifted to me by Influenster and Shea Moisture in exchange for my honest review.

IMG_8596So this was a nice surprise ! Influenster sent out this shampoo ( it’s huge ) for me to test out . I’ve always wanted to try Shea Moisture , but I also like sticking to the hair products I really like ( Garnier , Method ) but I’ve always heard good things about Shea Moisture. Especially in the rainbow hair community . many on the hair color forums and groups would reccomend it as it’s supposed to be really gentle on veggie dyes and doesn’t strip bleached hair of moisture.  Also the curly hair communities as well. My hair isn’t super curly , but does wave out if I don’t blow dry it or straighten it. Also my hair natural texture is thick and kind of course , even the bleached parts are bit coarse and thick .  My finace has kind of wavy baby fine hair . So he was also willing to try this too. I didn’t receive a conditioner , so I just used method simply nourish moisturizing conditioner . I may later try the conditioner next time I run out of method though.

IMG_8597It has neem , coconut , rosemary oil, shea butter , and aloe among the ingredients. And so far my hair does really well with Shea butter in general . the other method products plus the Punky 3-1 colors that i use all have shea butter .

The scent is really nice , you can smell the coconut and hibiscus and something else. it kind of reminds me of this Garnier Fructis Coconut Extract Nourishing Treat Shampoo , which I don’t know if they even still sell this . But they do smell similar . Of course this is actually more moisturizing than the Garnier nourishing treat shampoo. I notice when I first used this that my hair felt a bit thicker . Also I didn’t notice too much hair color bleed out either . So definitely a positive.  Didn’t really weigh my hair down  and it was easy to lather .  My finace also used it and like how it seemed to make his hair a bit more wavy too , His hair is baby fine so he doesn’t use it too often as it can weigh it down. He still likes the Method shampoo the best.

Overall This is pretty good quality shampoo , it lathers and moisturizes well , really good for thick hair , and color safe as well . Let me know what you think and if you tried any other products by Shea Moisture.
