ysl beauty candy glaze double care balm in chili delight review

Hey everyone ! I have another Influenster box , this time I get to test out the YSL beauty Candy Glaze double care balm. I thought it might be red as Influenster tends to send me a lot of red lipsticks , but surprise it’s a nice orange . Perfect for fall !
The case has a nice weight and shine to it . Very fancy and luxe feeling .

I took two pictures in two different areas to show how it looks in direct light and without . Here it’s more a sunburst orange .

Here it looks a bit more red .
Also this has a nice tropical mango scent to it which I really liked .
So when I swatched the color , part of the balm fell off on my arm. So some of the swatch is more thick vs the more sheer side . This balm is very prone to breaking off or melting . So definitely take care when putting this in your purse .
Again the intensity looks different in different lighting .
Here’s with the flash. .It’s a pretty juicy glossy look , and I like the jelly like consistency on my lips. This is super comfortable to wear , but a little messy to apply . At first I used a brush to apply for more precision, but it was a bit sheer so applied another coat , and to me it looked a bit messy. So I had to go back and fix like the corners of my mouth . It does have a nice wear time , but it will smudge when drinking or eating .
Here’s without flash and it definitely looks like a darker orange , kind of red . Still has a nice gloss look though. I kind of wish they had sent me another color , liked the dark brown and the burgundy in the Candy Glaze line . I wear those colors a bit more , so maybe I’ll try those out for myself sometime . Also I figuared out why I really like the scent of this balm. It reminds me of the special Webkinz liquid lip gloss they used to seel at Hallmark. I used to collect Webkinz plush , and they all had a code that let you play with the plush animals online , but they also sold scented gloss , charm bracelets ect, that also had codes. I think the gloss had a special item online , but I definitely remember that gloss’s nice candy mango smell. Also they still sell this stuff on Amazon and Walmart !

And now finally let’s see how it looks on my face . I wanted to play around with the Afrogalactic palette as well , so oranges and shimmers were the theme today.

I didn’t mind it honestly , and yeah I don’t wear oranges that often , but it wasn’t bad and I like the nice juicy gloss gel look of the lip color/balm. It does keep my lips feeling pretty soft. I do wish they more colors that appealed to me in this line though.  As the formula is really nice evn if the balm itself is kind if melty.

Overall it’s a pretty nice formula , and the color may appeal to those who want a nice warm orange for fall. I would definitely try some of the others colors , but I do hope they make some nice bright pinks and purples even if that may not be YSL Beauty’s niche.  Let me know what you think and if you are a fan of the Candy Glaze lipsticks.
