tom ford grey vetiver parfum review

*This product was sent out to me for free from Influenster and Tom Ford in exchange for my honest review .

The box was a bit beat up , but at least the perfume was still good to go !! Look at this a third or maybe my fourth fragrance box ! I was pretty curious as to how I would like this as I believe this is a more male/unisex perfume . So not overly flowery . 

My fiancé is actually not too fond of fragrances , but he still agreed to try this out . He’s pretty sensitive to perfume or cologne, so I let him just kind of smell it , just in case it gave him a headache.

The packaging is pretty nice ! 

The bottle is really nice too ! It’s like a metal flask . 
Now for the scent . It’s okay . Like I wasn’t my favorite but not necessarily offensive either .  There’s a lot of pine notes as well as strong citrus too . And more woody notes along with some saffron , and spice . Plus I’ve never really smelled Vetiver but I read somewhere that it also has kind of citrusy , earthy smell as well . So it’s very woodsy , herby and citrusy . After the initial notes die down there’s a residual spiciness that lingers . My fiancé said it wasn’t a terrible smell , but he’s just not a fan of perfumes on himself . But it didn’t give him a headache. He’s kind of sensitive to fragrance. So we decided to see if his brother would like to try it . 
And his brother didn’t like it either ! Well he didn’t hate it , but he said it was okay and he could see it being a unisex scent . He wasn’t a fan of the notes after it set on his skin . So he said it’s about a 3 star fragrance . 
So afterwards my fiancé and I asked one his friend’s if he wanted to try it out . He’s a bit more of a fragrance guy and owns some Valentino, Dior and a few others . He really didn’t like it . He said it was way too strong on the woodsy notes , like the pine and too much of the citrus . He told me this is a 1 star fragrance . 
So after asking 3 people what they thought of it , I think this is a fragrance you have to try in the store . I had sort of a mix of reactions and I think the pine or Vetiver is just not something everyone is going to like or love . 

While I wouldn’t recommend this especially as a blind buy , I would like to know what all of you think.Let me know in the comments of you have tried this or other Vetiver based fragrances .
