Hi everyone! It’s been a while but have been pretty busy. But I ordered some more palettes , the Sugarpill Black Capsule (which will get it’s own review ) and the sequel to Juvia Place’s Culture palette . I really love the Culture palette and even though it’s pretty big and I prefer smaller color stories , It’s still really fun to pull out and play with. I didn’t really hear too much about the Culture 2 being released, but my fiance got an email and was like hey did you know there’s another Culture palette? Did you want that? I was like definitely yes! I adore the first and really just glanced at the second . I did like the color story , as it looked like there was more greens , yellows, oranges and a ton of duochrome shimmers. But having the palette in hand is definitely something.
But first let’s compare the two !
The packaging and theme are very similar and I did notice they reused the name Afrobeats for different shades within the two palettes. The original Culture’s Afro Beat’s is a nice matte light cyna blue , whereas the sister palette’s version is an interesting duochrome mint blue duo chrome with green reflect. But when you open up the palettes , you really get to see thier individual personalities!
Right away you can see some colors that are similar but , Culture two is more focused on greens, some really intense oranges , corals , nice mustard and olive shades , and less purples. There are purples in this palette but they lean more on blue side . Plus only one true matte blue. It’s pretty hard to actually photograph some of these duochromes too. So I’ll try to add more in depth pictures for the full review.
Also this green beetle duochrome is amazing . This is one of the stand out shades in my opinion , in the top green row and has a really thin consistency, very similar to the multichrome shade in the Wahala 2 palette. I kind of want to say this is a multichrome , but I really only see two shifts . But still it’s such a pretty color.
I tried to get a better picture of the entire palette. Jos looks pretty deceptive , but it’s definitely a green that shifts to gold. Afro Beats here is beautiful when swatched , Jollof is also pretty unique as well. Same with Bantu which is very similar to the Too Faced Papaya Pop Umbrella Drinks, but more soft.
And here’s a closer look at the shimmer’s swatched.
Jos, and Afro Beats here. It doesn’t really look blue in this swatch , more of a pink, but it looks blue in the pan? Such an interesting shade .
Kingdom , Omege, and Batik
I tried to get two different pictures of Jollof, Rivers, Shuku, and Yoruba , Beads was sadly cutoff .
Bantu is beautful and I think this will be the shade I try next possibly. Also I love the bright coral and the deep sort earthy red. Really nice color story and I like how it’s quite different than the original Culture palette.
Now for the first eye look !
I wanted to try sort of a new wave look , as I really love that new green shimmer Jos! It also looks really nice over the eyeliner too . For the darker shade I used Fufu, and for the brow bone shades I used Festive, and blended with Palm Kennal the neutral sandy shade. I did later try and blend Serengeti with Fufu to make look a little less harsh, and for the bottom shade I used Lagos , I thought I needed a blue to pair with my hair .
And pair it with a nice grey lipstick and some gloss !

Well let me know what you think ! I’m hoping to upload some more looks this week since I’ve just recently bleached my roots, so I’ll be trying out some new shades to celebrate! Have a nice week everyone !

Also another cool bonus is they completely left out the pressed glitter . I still need to play around with the other colors and finishes though .

Oh that’s exciting! It was always a bummer to see those in there. I’m glad they didn’t this time!

Yeah Wahala 2 was super unfortunate about that. I still don’t really use the glitters in that one much.

Scarabs remind me of the movie, The Mummy. Yeah, they are pretty.

Lol I do like that movie . I also have a small collection of scarab charms , a few big ones that are as bug as my hand , a hair barrette , and Roxas used to have a hemp necklace that had blue scarab charm . Sadly the necklace finally fell apart so I need to make him a new one.
