Hey everyone, I thought I reviewed all the J-backet boba kits, but I was missing one , the original black tea and brown sugar one . And while it’s similar to the j-way instant brown sugar classic milk tea, it’s not quite as smooth as that one. You can also check out my previous j basket matcha review to see exactly what’s inside these kids. I spaced out and forgot to take pics of the pouches of tea, boba and straws . So my bad , but let’s check out the tea.
In these kits you will get three pouches of boba , powdered tea and straws . I was considering using the last tea powder and brewing Earl grey to mix with it , to give a little extra tea flavor. Otherwise the taste of this tea isn’t too strong , I would compare it to most other powdered teas, and I think it could do with more of strong black tea flavor. it would balance out the brown sugar way better . as for the boba , they’re chewy and sweet , and very brown sugary. I also like using oat milk for a nicer smooth milk flavor but I have tried almond milk and even horchata as a base for these kits too. And sadly my store has reduced these and will no longer be selling them in my location. they do still have some other brands , so I might try one of those later. Overall it’s pretty good , but not as smooth as the J-way brown sugar black tea. I do wish my store still had those ,but at least they have the taro one.
