Hey everyone ! It’s been a while but I wanted to show off one my latest Vox boxes . I received this one a bit earlier this month and even did a short tiktok for it as well . The item in question being the E.L.F bronzing drops !
which I also received the Holy Hydration moisturizing cream too , which I will review that separately !
It’s been a really long time since I’ve used any type of bronzer . I remember trying out the Bare Minerals makeup and using way too much bronzer when I was a late teen . It really made me orange and ever since then I’ve been scared to try bronzers or anything bronze in general as sometimes I can have a heavy hand . Plus I remember a friend giving me yet another bronzing powder and it made me borderline look like Hercules with that golden orange glow . Looking back on it , that would’ve been great for Cosplay or a Halloween Greek Goddess outfit . Maybe I’ll try that out again . But as for everyday makeup looks I usually pass on the bronzer . 
This is the pure gold , but there are two other bronzers you can get , one being more like a light gold and a more intense gold for deeper skin tones as well .
It actually doesn’t look bad , not too orangey . Definitely got that gold look . As for the instructions, this product is meant to be mixed with moisturizer, liquid foundation, or maybe even sunscreen . It says add about three or more drops to your preferred product and basically apply to face . I did try mixing in a 3 drops ( small ) to a dollop of the Holy Hydration moisturizer. I really didn’t like the look too much . I do have some acne scars and oily skin so I felt it emphasized the oily parts. But if you have drier skin or don’t really have problem skin I can kind of see that working . Also it does kind of pill up when added to the Holy Hydration so keep that in mind as well. It may work better with another moisturizer.
Now for the next try , I used three drops again with my Beauty Blender skin tint . This skin tint is a bit lighter , and I just mixed both products on my arm and applied with a blender sponge .
I didn’t really notice a difference , up close you could see a bit of shimmer from the bronzer but it really didn’t show up that well with the foundation . I could have used a bit more but I was definitely afraid of getting the way too orange kind of fake look rather than the more sun kissed look . I did use Holy Hydration moisturizer in place of primer before I applied my skin tint and I really liked how it smoothed out my face .
I do think it made my face a little dewy though . Again I feel like this is a product where you’ll either really love it or just don’t like it . I’m more on the dislike camp , as I really didn’t see a significant difference and adding more drops tends to make my face a bit more orange . But I can definitely see this being a product that others would like . I don’t have pics , but if you do go the just applying the drops directly to your face with no moisturizer or over the foundation , it does tend to be streaky . I do feel like certain powders may be a bit more superior or just adding a highlighter, but again that’s my preference too . Would I recommend this? Probably not , but again your mileage with the product may vary . I do remember Jergens making a bronzing lotion that wasn’t too bad . I used it for my face when I wanted a more tan look when I was a teen , without burning my skin with the sun , or tanning bed . And you really had to pick the right level or you could definitely look orange . Well let me know what you think and if you have tried bronzing drops before . Have a great week !
