OGx Quenching+coconut curls conditioner reformulated review

Hey everyone ! It’s time to review a kind of controversial brand OGX. They made some bad waves a few years ago when their products were found to be formulate with DMDM Hydantoin, which can release a bit of formaldehyde . And also a class action lawsuit as well . A few people were having hair loss issues and since then the company pretty much had to reformulate their products with Sodium Benzoate , which can be found in cinnamon and is food grade. Sad it took them so long to reformulate . But on to the review. My finace was curious about this as he did like one of thier other shampoos and wanted to see how well they worked since the reformulation. We decided on the coconut curls as he does sometimes get curls and my hair can be wavy it times when I braid or just don’t blow dry my hair. I’m currently using this alongside both the method simply nourish moisturizing shampoo and the shea moisture coconut & hibiscus curl & shine shampoo. I don’t have a lot of color in my hair as I’ve been letting my color fade so I can swap from purple to a turqouise . So I have bleached slightly dry hair ( as I don’t have conditioning dyes ) and  some grown out dark roots.

This conditioner has a lotion like consistency , thats pretty fragrant. Notes of coconut , honey and lemon and nice hint of orange peel . It’s actually pretty nice , and while it’s coconut , coconut is not the dominate scent . I like it though. It spreads through my hair pretty easily and it didn’t seem to really moisturize  my hair that well . I did use this when I had a streak of turqouise in my bangs, and it didn’t seem to fade the color too much. Overall it’s an okay  conditioner  but not great . I do prefer method’s Nourishing conditioner more , but it was out of stock again. Let me know what you think and if you have tried OGX products since the reformulation. have a great week.
