Hey everyone , still catching up with some of my drafts and I decided to review both of these shaving creams together . I’ll start with the French Vanilla .
So my fiance found these online and added them to our Amazon cart , he knew I liked lavender and mango scents , so these definitely have that going for them. I was pretty excited to try these out to as I ran out of my EOS shave lotion. And while I really like EOS brand these ones smells really good. The French Lavender smells much like the lavender perfume or flower and has a bit of soft musk smell too. It actually reminds me of this Lavender spa set that someone gave me years ago, I think it was lavender and wisteria . Which this smells very similar too. I have no idea the what the brand was as I think it was a small made in house product sold at the spa.
As for the texture , this is very thick cream , that spreads easily on my legs and bikini area. It doesn’t really slip around too much but I was able to get a really nice shave with it. It also lathers really well, and made my legs super soft.
And this is the part that really hurts, along with some of the awesome fruit extracts (papaya, lemon, olive, and lavender oil plus macadamia oil , it has Xylitol. Now I discontinued use of a face serum by Eve Lom , for pretty much the same reason, xylitol is really dangerous around dogs . Like it can kill them . And yes I’m aware it’s in a product my dogs can’t get to , but it goes on my skin and sometimes my dogs will lick my arm or leg and I just don’t like having products with Xylitol in my house . I was pretty bummed about this as I really liked the scent and how the product works . So this isn’t necessarily a bad review for this product as it does do exactly what it claims to, and it does smell great. This is probably one of the best shaving creams that i’ve tried . But I just don’t like having products with Xylitol in my house .
So at first i thought well just because the French Lavender has it maybe the Coconut Mango has a different ingredient list.
Also this one is my favorite of the two because of the strong mango and coconut scent, it reminds me of a body wash I used to always get. I don’t know if it was Caress or Tone but it just smells so good and yummy.
Sadly there is Xylitol in this one too ! It was such a let down for me. As I can’t really use this one either . I did test it out and the consistency is the same as the French Lavender but the Xylitol stuff is a no go for my household . It’s even worst because not only do I love Mango so does Roxas and he’s the one I want to keep this away from the most. So I’m giving these both away to my fiance’s younger sis ( she helps me with some of my reviews😄). She doesn’t have dogs and I think she would really like these . They’re a really good shaving cream but I just don’t like xylitol being in my house.
