maui moisture hair care :nourish & moisture+coconut milk shampoo review

So I was lucky enough to get this whole set of Maui Moisture hair care from Influenster throught their claim now  program. I”ve always wanted to try Maui Moisture as their hair products smell really good and fruity. I was happy to get the whole set of coconut milk as I’m a huge fan of coconut scents and this one also has a bit of a warm sugary smell to it.I decided to split up all the products in seperate reviews so I can really go into details about each product, so let’s start with the shampoo.

First off the scent is really strong but also amazing ! Very sugary , tropical coconut, with a hint of maybe vanilla . Or maybe it’s Guava extract , but it smells divine and I wish I could rate this shampoo higher just by the fragrance alone . But sadly it’s not the most moisturizing shampoo , cleans okay , but just doesn’t leave my hair feeling great . My fiance tried it too , and he wasn’t a huge fan . I also used it with the other two products ( conditioner and hair mist ) and it really didn’t make much difference with my hair . When I just towel dried my hair , it seems to dry really stiff and kind of crunchy . My hair felt a bit more normal when I would just use the cool setting on my hair dryer , but it still wasn’t as nice feeling as my normal Garnier aloe and coconut shampoo and conditioner. I had really high hopes for this shampoo and it kind of let me down . But at least it smells really good .
As far as being color safe , I think it was pretty decent . I did re color my hair with the Punky 3 in 1 color depositing shampoo and conditioner and used this Maui shampoo to rinse it out . And I did have more success when I conditioned my hair first , then shampoo’d , and conditioned again. But I went through quite a bit of the conditioner.

Overall I really wanted to like this , but it wasn’t the best for my hair type possibly or the formula just wasn’t hydrating enough . I know some others on online reviews thought that maybe the formula had too much alcohol, which that kind if makes since as most of the other ingredients look pretty hair healthy. I know some other Maui products are really good for curly hair , but I’m not sure about this one . My hair does have a bit of a wave to it , although I usually just blow dry it straight. But who knows it just might be a hair type issue .
