Almay lip Vibes Mix it UP Lipstick revIEw

One of the saddest things is when a makeup company discontinues a product. Like Fenty with their Mattemoiselle lipsticks or Too Faced with their legendary Unicorn Tears lip topper . I do still have a spare of Unicorn Tears , but still I was on the look out for a good dupe . And while it’s not exact dupe this Almay Lip Vibes Mix it Up is a pretty fun topper.

The tube itself is really cool and almost holographic looking . Kind of like Moonstone. It’s a very pretty pale periwinkle opal , with bright green toned blue shimmers.

I wanted to show it off in a different lighting too .

I really liked the smell of this lipstick , it’s lightly vanilla scented . Not overpowering though. it does swatch it bit more clear than Unicorn Tears which had more of a shift to it . The original Unicorn Tears would change to a silvery blue to a nice bright pink when swatched or worn on my lips . Sadly Mix it Up lacks that feature . But it does wear nicely and gives off a frosty appearance.

First time wearing it bare . It definitely reflects light well.

It does look better close up where you can see the blue glitter . 

I This a look I did for the Huda Beauty Mercury Retrograde palette . I had to keep fighting my fringe lol.

Wearing over Maybelline’s Stay matte ink in Philosophy. I was so sad that this lipstick is drying out . I really need to order a new one finally .

And now let’s see some more looks over other lipsticks . I noticed it works best over a kind of matte lip . This lipsticks I used in order are Nyx Turn it up , Nyx powder puff lippie in Moody and Sugarpill matte lip in Vertigo . Also I’m so sad as Vertigo is also drying up too . 

Up close you can see the shimmer but it did make my lipstick cream lipstick kind of smear more . Further away I think it looks much better though.

I had to use my ear headband to hold my hair back. This is more or less a sneak preview of of one of my Huda looks.

This one was actually my favorite even if I was trying a round princess peach lip look. I was in an experimental mood.

And finally my more extreme rounded lip look.

I think the blue sparkles showed up the best on Vertigo.

And there you have it ! I was really liking the blue shimmer on my other lipsticks. I eventually have to pair with a matte black sometime , as I love shimmery black lips.
